Moments like this make me grateful that I have a fairly decent camera on my cell phone. Quinton is my sister Jani's almost three year old little lady killer. I'm so glad Jani is here with him for the next couple of weeks. The longer she stays, the better. Now I need to go dig through old memory cards for the picture I have like this when Quinton was 7 months old and living with me. These guys are growing up too fast!

My beloved Zomig
Thank you Astra Zeneca for creating that wonderful drool inducing, couldn't wake me with an air horn, if she weren't breathing I'd think she were dead, best sleep you ever had with a migraine medication Zomig. I have been a faithful user for the last 8 years and I must say, your product is even more useful when taken with Cymbalta. The drug interactions say to talk to your doctor before taking Zomig with SNRI drugs, so I did and he said it was fine. What he meant to say was it is actually amusingly fun. I briefly recall feeling like I was floating above my bed before passing out for several hours of fabulously dreamless sleep. This sort of thing might actually make me not HATE my migraines so much.
Today, I'm also incredibly grateful for a son that is respectful enough to leave me alone when I'm feeling like this so I can get over the nasty migraine in peace and quiet. I'm sure it didn't hurt matters that when I'm feeling that crappy, Quiznos for dinner is pretty much a guarantee!

UP
On the gratitude list today is the movie "Up." Why a movie? I'll tell you. I had absolutely no desire to see this movie when it came out, but one of my very best friends invited me to see it with her and her kids, so Bryan and I went. Bryan, Payden and Davy all sat in the very front row; Jan, Kaitlyn, Nikya and I sat somewhere in the middle and Skyler sat behind us so as not to be seen with his mom, sisters and friend. (Oh the horror!) By the time the movie was over, I think Jan's daughters had even scooted away from us because we were laughing so hard. The movie is HILARIOUS. Squirrel. The movie came out Tuesday, so tonight we watched it for Friday the 13th. No, Disney/Pixar movies aren't really Friday the 13th fare, but we were in the mood for the movie and Friday the 13th or not, we were having an "Up" party tonight. Bryan and I will watch scary movies for Saturday the 14th instead. To bring an end to my incredibly long winded story, the movie "Up" makes me laugh hysterically and reminds me of good times with a great friend, so it's worth being thankful for! Squirrel!
One more quick thing. I saw this for the first time ever on one of my friend's Facebook pages. Apparently it's a Dr. Seuss quote, but I think it will be my new motto. "Be who you are and say what you feel. The people that mind don't matter and the people that matter don't mind."

Today, I am thankful for having a job that gives me the flexibility to take off at a moment's notice for the rest of the day. My sister was coming from Boise with her almost three year old son and the cancer is making her SO tired. With absolutely no notice whatsoever, I was able to take off and meet my sister in Heber so my mom could drive the rest of the way to Vernal with her. Lately I spend a good chunk of my time HATING my job, but today reminded me of why I stay there. I don't know of anywhere else I could do what I did today and still have a job to come back to.
On that note, I had the privilege of driving home with Quinton, my almost three year old nephew. About 30 minutes away from home he started getting bored, so we made the car fart by purposely driving on the rumble strips on the side and middle of the road. I've never heard a kid laugh so hard. Then I had a good laugh when he kept calling me "My Grandma Debbie's friend." He couldn't remember my name, which is only fair since I haven't seen him since he was 9 months old. I talk to him on the phone from time to time, so when I told him that I talked to him last night, he said "No, I talked to my aunt Amalee last night." ....and then the light went on! As soon as he saw his mom, he told her "Amalee and me made the car fart and it was so so funny!" What a doll! I love this boy!

Happy Veteran's Day
To apostrophe or not to apostrophe? Happy Veteran's Day, Happy Veterans' Day, or Happy Veterans Day? I don't know; I've seen it all 3 ways today. It seems to me that it needs to show some possession, but that's just me.
So, on to my gratitude list for the day. Today, I am obviously thankful for those who serve this amazing country. I am so incredibly grateful to those who selflessly serve this country and others in the military. I am especially grateful to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned home. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13. How grateful I am to know so many veterans. It takes a tremendous amount of courage and bravery to enlist in any branch of the military, knowing that any given day may be your last. I am so glad to live in a country where thousands of men and women count complete strangers among their "friends" and are willing to sacrifice their lives for ours. Even as so many people are so openly hateful toward the military, these brave men and women are out there every day protecting our rights to talk trash about what they do. I'm reminded of a phrase I get in emails occasionally, and absolutely love. "Remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul, and the other for your freedom." Thank you to all veterans past, present and future. God bless you all. You truly are America's finest.

Thankful list
I'm stealing this from facebook and posting it to my blog instead. Tons and tons of my friends are posting things they are thankful for every day as a status update, but maybe some days I don't want to be limited to the number of characters that the status update allows. I'm not promising anything, but I'm hoping to post every day at least one thing I'm thankful for from now until Thanksgiving.
Today, I am incredibly thankful that I am not one of those girls who can't make up her own mind. You know who I'm talking about. They're the girls who change what they like, how they dress, how they talk and their opinions based on the flavor of the week (or day, month or year). I'm SO SO SO thankful that I know better than to define myself by my relationship status. I'm thankful that I like sports, not because the guy I like is into them, but because I genuinely LOVE sports. I'm thankful that I am comfortable being alone and have not hooked up with some random jerk just so I don't have to be by myself. I'm thankful that I have a job that lets me support my stubbornness, even though a good chunk of the time I wish I was somewhere else. Mostly though, I am thankful that I am comfortable with being myself, even though sometimes I am NOT my biggest fan.

Night on the town.
Ok, so the town was Fort Duchesne, but it was still one heck of a time. It was Lauren and Kenny's birthdays on Friday, so we celebrated on Saturday by heading to Fort Duchesne to go bowling with the Labrums. SO MUCH FUN!!! Bryan and Kenny bowled in their very own lane, complete with bumpers. Michelle, Craig, Justin and Marissa took up the next lane and Lauren, Stevie and I rounded out the match. All we were missing was Tyler and Mandaran; we're crossing our fingers that they will be there next time. We laughed, we stuck bowling balls up our shirts and of course bowled. Justin and Craig pretty much killed us all, but then they took it a tad more seriously than we did. Have you ever seen someone bowl granny style? How about granny style backwards? Bet you wish you were a fly on the wall. I think I may have to take up bowling with Bryan a little more often. I forgot how much fun it is. (even with the ugly shoes!)
